Re: RHD '68 BARRACUDA RESTORATION
I'm curious about your master cylinder/booster configuration. Is it identical to the set-up from a LHD drive Barracuda? On my RHD Cuda, I had (as built) a separate booster below the battery pan with just the master cylinder attached to the bulkhead. And that was totally different from the LHD master...

bbs or bbd?
Without actually taking my carburettor off, how can I tell if my carburettor is a BBS or BBD? The tag got lost decades ago.

Re: insurance value
Thanks guys for all your interest and especially Dave for a long consideration of the issues. About 30 years ago I considered getting a valuation from Tony O. but for some reason or other, I never actually did. I sent a PM to Pete Wiseman just now but it seems to be stuck in my outbox at the moment....

insurance value
I think I need to upgrade the insurance value of my RHD Valiant Barracuda. I don't use it much nowadays but it's in reasonable condition. Because it's a straight six, I can't really compare it with the prices I see on this forum for most people's cars! I'm sure its uniqueness doesn't count for much ...

Re: Buying items from the States
Yes, Dave, I'd already done this. Sadly Rock Auto do washer pumps, the grommet between it and the reservoir, wiper arms, etc but not the plastic reservoir itself! Thanks for your careful analysis of the mechanics of buying/selling. I will re-read and make a decision next week. Many thanks. J

Buying items from the States
It's been years since I bought stuff on-line from across the Pond, so perhaps somebody could remind me how it all works. I'm after a windshield washer bottle (so therefore a bulky item and probably a "rare" item) which I can get on Ebay (American) or via Year One. Do I buy, then wait to ge...

Re: windscreen washer bottle and motor
Hurrah, all sorted. Long-nosed piers wouldn't do it but you gave me a clue! Thanks. Not a spark plug socket, but a box spanner. I suddenly remembered buying some large ancient box spanners from Beaulieu Autojumble many years ago, and I found them today at the back of my workshop. One happened to hav...

windscreen washer bottle and motor
I accidentally leant on my windscreen washer bottle and cracked it at the bottom--all the water gushed out. I doubt if the crack is sealable by glue so I need a new bottle. But how do I get the electric pump motor off? The manual says, use a deep socket poked in from the mouth of the bottle. It has ...

Re: brake pipe adapter
Following on from Dave's idea, I ordered a pair of 1/2" X 20 nuts to fit a 3/16" dia pipe. I actually found Car Builder Solutions in this country for this. They fit the new master cylinder OK, ie, screw right down leaving about a millimetre between the nut head and the M/C body. But I have...

brake pipe adapter
bay4.JPG Does anybody know where in this country one can order brake pipe adapters like the ones in the picture going to the master cylinder? I've looked in vain on-line and my local garage can't get them. The thread going into the master cylinder is 1/2" X 20 UNF and the internal female threa...

1/2" 20 INV
The specs for a Centric master cylinder that might fit my car say that the brake ports are 1/2" 20INV. What on earth does INV mean? Is it TPI (turns per inch) or a fancy name for UNF or UNC?

Barracuda radiator repair
Can anybody recommend a radiator repairer in the SW London/Surrey area? My radiator (though not leaking yet) needs welding around the seams of the header tank as there's plenty of rust showing. Where I went twenty years ago, Serck's of Dorking, have long gone and the local area is now a desert for s...
