Re: My very last restoration!!!

In to a full shroud ,
I could get my one recored I guess but there’s seemingly no one local anywhere,

Ironically my wife’s first husband ran East Kent Rads !

Re: My very last restoration!!!

Absolutely!
Everywhere I can stick the probe!
Old school but it bloody works,
The spinning tip thingy works very well providing one gets the waxoly nice a warm ,

But obviously at this stage everything is done oil and grease free, so getting things like door hinges the side about it a challenge!

I ...

Re: My very last restoration!!!

Haha
24 like every one else! Lol
However I’m 69 so time is very precious and any spare hour is on the car,
Had to do some shuffling around today as I wanted to fit my subframe,
It’s a big heavy lump and I’m single handed so some creativity is definitely needed!

Reasonable pleased with the fit ...

Re: My very last restoration!!!

Hood now in epoxy , just the rear section of the underside to colour and I can start reassembly!
Just in time for the winter, but at least doing spanner work it’s easier to get some localised heat and make it my comfortable to do!

Re: My very last restoration!!!

Haha yeah and time is one commodity that’s in short supply!
I turner 69 the other day and laying on me back under the poxy car is getting more and more difficult each year !
Plus in still working 4 days a week so actual Tranny time is two days max per week,

Catch 22 really , retire and have loads ...

Re: My very last restoration!!!

Running out of time now so it’s very unlikely I’ll get the shell in colour now ,

And I’ve been called for jury service so there’s two to three weeks I’ll be tied up!

Re: Holley Sniper

I seriously considered going down this route myself
I needed a new induction system etc
However the thought of possible dodgy Chinese semi conductors and zero local backup made me stay old school!
New inlet , new distributor , new DP 750 Holley
Blah blah
However I do have option on fuel tanks as I ...

Re: My very last restoration!!!

Haha I was speaking figuratively, my project car ,
But it belongs the the now retired owner of the coach company I work for,
As does the container!
I’m just a minion,
The cars almost done now but basically no longer particularly desirable,
Cost vs value is a sticky matter now,
My TA is passion so I ...
