Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger

That’s major surgery! Thankfully, looks like we are ok round that area, but thanks for the tip!

This week has been mostly focussed on the boot floor. All prepped and ready to go in, everything has been taken back and weld-thru primered. Having been nervous that it wouldn’t go in without some ...

Re: Van the man

Funnily enough, Chris Farlow was supporting him last time I saw him... Didn't look like either of them would be in for a brawl. :D

That’s an interesting one, Matt. I’ll have a look and see what I can see today.

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger

Genuine 70’s California leaves for sale on eBay, along with a collection of genuine barn find dust and “patina” cuttings from original panels. :D

That ought to pay for all the welding! :thumbright:

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger

Being as I can’t help with the rear end, I spent a bit of time finding some bits that aren't full of holes and rust… which was nice.

That is, until I found some more big wedges of sealant and hiding holes and rust…

In other news, though, the installation of the new Flintstones rear drive is coming along nicely. :D

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger

The gift that just keeps giving… Rear panel is in need of repair as well. Decided not to replace this one, largely due to having already spent the engine fund on panels and welding. It’ll have to be patched.

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger

I’ll have a watch of that, cheers. I have a lightweight gravel pan, it plan to keep the full bumpers on there. I’m sticking with keeping it street-strip, rather than race car.

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger

Cheers, Gents.

They have pretty much done away with themselves, as they are all falling off, so I think I will just pull them and lay carpet back over the wiring. :read2:

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger

Looking at the rest of the floor, these thin flaps of metal were on the drivers side, presumably to cover the wiring running the length of the car to the rear. Only tacked in a couple of places and bent over, so they are coming away anyway.

Are these standard, does anyone know, or just something ...

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger

Not exactly crazy progress today, but took advantage of the milder day and got the front fenders off. I’d been unsure of doing this originally, as I was worried about the sealed edges mis-shaping, but as it happens they came off relatively easily, barring a few rusted and rounded bolts.

I’m glad I ...
