Re: Bicester Spring Scramble

Aw man. Well I'm sad I missed it. Yes its expensive, but its interesting wander round. £30 is too much though.

Thats Jonny Smiths Charger. (or 'Chanquez' if anyone listens...) Cool.

Re: Locking out timing on a street car

Vacuum advance is handy for pulling in lots of extra idle advance but given the small diameter caps mopars use, if you already have a lot of initial timing it can actually cause a misfire by firing on the next adjacent post. My thinking is vacuum advance on a mildly tuned street car but mechanical ...

Brimmed it at the weekend but came straight back rather than burning off a bit first - garage stunk of petrol and sure enough a little pool. Pretty sure its the sender seal. Gonna have to burn off a full tank before I can drop it though...

Most people seem to remove it by ...

Re: Locking out timing on a street car

I've had multiple goes at this over different motor and ignitions. The current motor is the only one I've been able to run vac advance on - but whilst I can see it knocks the idle timing wildly I cant say I notice any driving difference to when its locked in. It certainly aint economical :-k
Anyway ...

Re: Rear window corner trim 68-70 Charger

These tend to be like rocking horse poo.

There was a repro house did the whole set a while ago - the entire rear window - but wasnt cheap.
I realise that isnt helpful; but it might be cheaper to refinish what you have

Re: Raising car on 4 axle stands

That made my legs go cold reading that.
I am always super careful too - watching people just 'duck under' whilst just on the jack. nononononono

Pete, as ever, bang on. To get the thing up, let the rear axle do the pivot. Personally, soon as I can, I get the stands under the 'box rails' (the bits ...

Re: Antifreeze.

Had 2 lots of Prestone in the new engine and it seems to go rusty real fast - its now brown opaque rather than bright yellow.
I do have Ally heads now - so wondering if if got the hump with that somewhere down the line.
Rad /block was flushed etc prior to install.

Whats the current thinking team ...
