Re: oil filter
thanks for the info guys.
Thankfully I'd only got the passenger side rocker shaft upside down.
Started her up and the oil pressure went up to 55Psi and stayed there, so things looking better.
Well they were until no-5 HT lead went up in smoke

Re: oil filter
Morning Blue, Dave, So I’ve removed the rocker cover on the left side and yes the the rocker shaft is on upside down. The notch and the oiling oils all on top🤬. But here’s the other thing, looking at the drawing you supplied, it seems I have the heads on wrong sides as well. The drawing says that th...

Re: oil filter
Hi Dave, The rocker shafts are a common rail with the rockers positioned by each push rod which are solid, so I'm assuming that the oil is pumped around the heads to everything. At first start up the oil pressure sat at aroung 55psi, but then fell away and now on idle just sits at virtually 0 and do...

Re: oil filter
Hi Matt,
Got it wrong it is 10W-40
The top half has had a freshen up, valves reseated and new valve stem seals.
Didn’t seem to be as noisy before!

Re: MSD distributor
Glad to hear it was worth the money.
Out of curiosity, did you fit the distributor as it came out of the box or did change any of the springs or bushings to suit your needs.

Re: MSD distributor
The cam, lifters, etc are all the same, we haven’t replaced anything as all seemed in good condition.
Hopefully that was the right decision.

Re: MSD distributor
Hi Pete, The Distributor Pt no- 8388 and I have an MSD blaster coil 2 The wiring diagram is straight forward enough but I’m just I’m just a bit thrown as to whether the existing electronic ignition and ballast need to be included as there’s no mention of them in the MSD instructions. So I’m thinking...

Now it says that it’s just a 3 wire hook up and your ready to go. So do we completely disregard the existing electronic ignition ...
