Thankfully I'd only got the passenger side rocker shaft upside down.
Started her up and the oil pressure went up to 55Psi and stayed there, so things looking better.
Well they were until no-5 HT lead went up in smoke

Hi Dave, The rocker shafts are a common rail with the rockers positioned by each push rod which are solid, so I'm assuming that the oil is pumped around the heads to everything. Got it wrong it is 10W-40
The top half has had a freshen up, valves reseated and new valve stem seals.

Out of curiosity, did you fit the distributor as it came out of the box or did change any of the springs or bushings to suit your needs.

The cam, lifters,etc are all the same, we haven’t replaced anything as all seemed in good condition.
Hopefully that was the right decision.
