that is a ausi charger bri and i bougt as a project about 1983, towed it all the way to notts americana to try ans sell it never got a sniff think we paid about ?300 for it, ended up swapping it for a vauxhall ventora with a olds v8 and powerglide, seemed like a fast car back then, the charger ended...

NEIL you need to hold the carb lever and press it fully open, at this point it should fully push the kickdown rod fully rearward the carb needs to be able to open fully just as the kickdown rod is fully pressed and stops rearward, hope this helps, also check the kickdown rod and or linkage is not ge...

YES THATS THE CAR, THE PLATE SAYS IT ALL, CAUSE IT DOES LOOK AN ANGRY CAR, THE SIXPACK, 4 SPEED ,AND THE PLATE SOLD ME ON THE CAR, IT WAS A BIT OVERPRICED AT THE TIME SPECIALY SINCE AS SOON AS I BOUGHT IT WITHIN A WEEK IT WAS A TOTAL BARE SHELL

yes the runner is the one george once owned,was 383 now 440 sixpack 4 speed had every nut and bolt off and totaly rebuilt gettin on ten yrs now christ how time fly,s still tidy enough but for a while used it every day and she lived outside, now a bit pampered and has garage space, built it for round...

its possible sean thats your problem best bet is have the fluid between the hot marks full and low, when the box has done perhaps 10 miles running in neatral, they will also blow out the breather when the trans is badly worn

fill it full off water, tie it to a tree and waft the gas axe across the inlet hole it may have a bit off a belch then its ready to weld dry/empty

hey rich just dont overfill it, they have a tendancy to blow out the breather which is in the bellhsg it makes you think you have a pump seal leak

fit yourself a couple off autometer gauges cappilary type , water temp and oil pressure, you will be able to trust the readings from them and go from there

try to put the fan engine side off the rad most will fit, this way it does not impede the air flow through the rad to start with and obv make sure the fan is sucking through the rad drawing to rear off car, you wont have a problem charging with that big alter
