Sealing split rims

One of my front tyres is losing air and I've discovered that it's due to air escaping from around the wheels stud holes. the wheel is a 4.5" (alluminium) Centreline (I think) split rim. Has anybody tried re-sealing one of these? I was going to proceed by letting the air out of the tyre and undo...
