SOLD - MODS PLEASE REMOVE - 1974 Plymouth Satellite RR Clone

Post by Stackwood » Sun Nov 18, 18 8:53 pm

1974 Plymouth Satellite / Road Runner Clone

318 cubic inch V8
4v Holley 4160, recent partial rebuild
Edelbrock Performer Intake
Manifolds, dual exhausts
3 speed auto, on the floor
Discs on the front, drums on the back
Power steering car
10-bolt rear end

New alternator, voltage regulator, ballast resistor, ignition control, coil, cap and rotor.
New top hose, bypass hose, fuel hose and filter, new air filter

15x7 cop car steel wheels, which I had sand blasted, primed and sprayed black. New acorns. Cooper Cobra Radial G/Ts, 235/255

Has had welding work done by previous owners but very solid floor pans. Rust in both rear quarters per the photos, so they'd need some work, and same with the passenger front fender top and passenger rear arch.

It is in primer. It’s had a few coats of paint over the years, and it’s had a bit of filler. I like the ratty muscle car look, but it’ll need some work if you want show quality! Has the Road Runner hood.. much much better than stock!

Black Bucket seats, taped up, with console, T handle and dashpad.
Console has been modified slightly and dashed is repaired and flocked. No carpet. Headliner is good.
Originally a green interior, previous owner painted black, panels and door cards need a refresh.

It was missing some glass and bumper guards which I’ve sourced and fitted, and screen trim is in the boot but needs a clean up.
The only missing trim that I can see is the piece between rear bumper and the car.

Starts on the first turn of the key
Runs well, drives and stops
Engine is very smooth and quiet at idle, roars when necessary
Shifts through gears well but the selector needs tuning/linkages might need some tweaking.
Lights all work. Wipers too - and fitted with new blades. It also has a working Road Runner horn!
NB: Instrument cluster needs looking at. Fuel gauge works, but speedo not functioning.
I have driven up and down my lane fine, and no reason to think it wouldn't do a long trip, but unless you live locally or a Roadkill fan, I would recommend trailering. NB: I have not gone through the brakes in my ownership.

UK registered since mid 80s, last MOT ran out 2016. I've had it since May this year. Solid file of paperwork and receipts and old MOTs, and small world - when it was first imported it was in Vange, Basildon, down the road opposite my Nan and next to my Dad's best mate!

Vin decodes as Satellite Premium 2dr Hardtop 2v 318 V8 1974 made in Windsor, Ontario, Canada
Fender tags decode it as originally a luxury trim level, bucket seat console car with 10" RR disc brakes and black side stripes
Original colour was green G8, which is Deep Sherwood Metallic
