1964 Ford Falcon Sprint V8
This is an authentic and ultra rare 1964 Ford Falcon Sprint V8 (63D code) car, not to be confused with the 2 door sedan version. This model has the Le Mans racing pedigree heritage.
Just look at the photos – it is a true survivor car; sun blasted having spent its life in California. The patina is real and not fake. Chassis, frame rails and floor pans not even dented and perfect.
It was imported in May 2017 by the Alan Mann racing consortium and purchased from their workshops. As the Falcon had been laid up for at least 20 years on bringing the car home the engine was removed, stripped and re-built by a Mustang builder / racer. Indeed the entire car has been stripped down and re-built.
Spec:
Engine
• 302 block with 351 Windsor heads correctly machined to flow together. This was a way of making good power ‘back in the day’.
• Pop up pistons to maintain compression.
• Crane Hi-Po cam, hydraulic tappets, fully adjustable valve train with guide plates, screw in studs and hardened push rods.
• New timing chain set and new gasket set.
• The engine is showing evidence of being ‘balanced’.
• Edelbrock performer intake with Carter 4 barrel.
• New water pump
• Hi-Po 289 air filter
• Electric fuel pump
• Modern (Vauxhall) alternator
• Kenlowe electric fan
Exhaust
• Full length headers, 21/2” exhaust, x-pipe into Flowmasters.
Transmission
• Freshly built 4 speed Toploader, wide ratio, racing clutch & Hurst shifter.
Axle
• 8” rear end with 3.50 open gears (28 spline)
• New Koni shocks all round
Brakes
• Factory 4 pot front discs with stainless steel pistons and racing pads. Everything is new on the braking system, master cylinder, lines and cables
Other
• Halogen headlights
• Sitting on 15” Torque Thrusts
• All chrome present.
• Panel fit good
• All locks / ignition work on one key.
• Everything works
Interior
• Authentic additional gauges fitted and working.
• Leather Alfa Romeo seats.
• Rear seat has the ‘Mexican blanket’ treatment as only the frame is present if you wish to recover.
• Dash had cracked in the sun.
• When I bought the car the heater box was lying in the trunk, it still is.
This Falcon is ‘sorted’, ‘on the button’, small by American standards, handles well and has ‘muscle car performance.’ It is a get in and drive car. It is very rare, even in America, and if you wish to fully restore there is negligible bodywork required.
If you are looking for a FIA race car – this is an excellent candidate to start with.

Price - £14,500 ONO (No swaps or part /ex) This a lot of car for this money and ‘shiny’ ones command 20K plus prices and not as good as spec as this car.
