Took us an age to get in too, plus some roadworks thru Harlow, made our planned one hour journey into a two hour slog
The locals must have wondered what the hell was going on!

It was only going to be a social event for us so on that front it was a successful trip, meeting up with some old familiar, windswept and frost-bitten faces

According to the pictures on their website it's a 318?

Funny you say that, Rob, as a lot of folk ask us if our stock 318 Demon is a six - in stock format they are very quiet and smooth particularly if they still retain the original single tailpipe exhaust system. Occasionally I sometimes wonder if our car has cut out at the lights. It never has, though. I suppose most folk expect a mopar v8 to have a big loppy cam in it and make a proper noise, eh?

I remember when we took our car to the NEC a few years back someone ran over to us as my wife was getting in to move it and said "Don't fire it up it'll be far too loud we'll help you push" "Nah, it'll be fine mate...It's idling right now!" she replied. :thumbright:

I got wind of the queue, and decided to stay in my pit.
Disappointing really , as there is a market there every Saturday which attracts a lot of people, and never any traffic or parking issues

Don't blame you Gary.
Sounds like the NSRA need to look into how they run the market.

Took me nearly 2 hours from when i exited the M11 until i parked the truck at the swap meet, made worse as i'd decided the SRT10 Ram with the heaviest clutch known to man needed a run out. The issue was the taking payment before parking, and stopping you before you pay again to give you a ticket. I guess as theres no fence or turnstile around the swap meet itself its the only way they can get paid, needs sorting before next time

Never been to this, and its good to see it going form strength to strength.

Question: Do you get much Mopar stuff or is it mainly Chevy and Ford stuff.

Would like to go next year, but the distance and queing for no suitable parts would put me off!! :thumbright:

There is always Mopar stuff there Dave but yes Ford and Chevy mainly, though plenty of stuff that isn't make specific. You never know what might turn up there its a total gamble, but worth the effort. it's useful to know what you're looking at though, 'cos half the vendors don't know what they are selling and 90% of the buyers have no idea what they are looking at....

Mandie and I went for the first time as its only an hour away, BUT 1 1/2 hrs queue to get in.
Worth it though to catch up with lots of folk and look at stuff I don't need, and a few nice cars too, for sale and just parked.
Couldn't stay long due to other commitments but had a good couple of hours. Will definitely go again next year.
Mustang for £6995 seemed a good deal, even if it is a 6 pot.
