Stu wrote: Sat Nov 06, 21 9:58 am Well, inspired by Scotty Dave, I decided to finish my embarrassing 9 pages of how long can it take one bloke to cut and paint a couple of bits of steel.

Finally dry, I’ve spent the morning under the dash again and finally got it plumbed in and tidied up. I’ll be honest, I’m not exactly happy with it, mostly because the top of the dash is in a state where it’s cracked and expanded the aperture, so it shows it up a bit more now, but I’ve learned a lot and it’s in, so I’ll come back to it another time when I’ve had a think how to do it better. I have decided I do love a bit of wrinkle finish, though. Even having had a nozzle explode whilst painting this one.

In the meantime, the view from the cockpit is 100% better, I can see everything clearly now, which was the aim and it’s much tidier, so I’m happy from that point of view. 8-)
had you thought about the bonus feature of the recessed panel? it's now a handy pen, phone, notepad etc holder/tray right to hand in front of you :thumbright:

:D

Next jobs are likely to be the rear seat back and rear end, so think professional help may be required rather than my current Tony Hart efforts :read2:

Thanks Gents. I know it’s all amateur clown stuff, but it’s keeping me busy.

As ever, new bits are making old bits look worse, so currently trying to figure what paint to use on the metal dash bits to bring it back to life without making it look stupid shiny glossy next to the old dash. :-k

Thanks Matt. I’d use different clips if I did it again, they don’t work brilliantly and can damage it when tightening as I found out, but for less than a tenner I’m happy enough that I can sling my sunglasses into something again now. 8-)

Pete, I need to source another seat back, the one I ordered has fallen through and they are silly money from the states.

Yes, in a perfect world I would be putting new front covers on the 'Cuda, but they are out of stock at the moment, and others are quite expensive.

Having seen your pictures, I would not worry about it yet.....

I dunno, Pete, this view through the rear window really upsets me. :(

Hey kids! Today on Project Bodge, we’re Bananarama! up the ashtray! :D

I know this one's going to upset a few people, but you can buy a shiny new repop for pennies and this was was Bananarama! anyway.
