The Sorn car

Post by Anonymous »

Knew this car when Bobby McDonald owned it.

When he died and the collection came up for auction we all went down, some of us had pooled money, and got swamped by all the big money bidders who came up from darn sarf. We were gutted.

No idea what happened to his black Superbird. It used to sit on the forecourt of Dalblair Ford in Ayr.

No idea what happened to his Ram Air IV Judge.

No idea what happened to his 427 '67 Camaro, rumoured to a be a Nickey, or Baldwin, or something like that.

I think his Boss 429 Mustang is still in the UK.

He did like his cars, and bikes, and tanks ....

I think that is Jim's hemi RoadRunner to the right and a very rare UK bound Chrysler VIP on the left.

Can we have some more of the Sorn story??????

I was talking with JC about it on Saturday, pretty intriguing stuff. Who was this guy and was the collection private?

some great cars mentioned there - particularly the 429 Mustang, the 'special' camaro and the RA IV.

Whats it all about? who got what in the end?

I had the Sorn catalogue with all the prices written on it for years.

I just can't lay my hands on it now.

We went down in my friend's 1971 Olds Delta 88 convertible.
