BIZZARINI and Intermeccanica

Post by MattH »

Following a conversation last night, this would be my retirement toy maybe?

I have seen a real one in the UK, possibly the only one.

That looks just up my street, hardtop style works better than the convertible possibly.

Half a million Euros in 2014 for a Bizzarini, wow. What a stunning looker though, and not red!

These cars are the best of both, beautiful styling with rugged US engines, so none of the fragile Italian mechanicals.

Nice looking cars. I saw one get destroyed at the Goodwood Revival 13 years ago. I was looking at the car in the pits before hand and it was in mint condition. It was the first production car made, number 201.

Yes I remember seeing that reported at the time -- tragic :(

Dunno about 'fragile Italian mechanicals'... the chassis looks like it could have done with a bit more heft too

With the value, I wonder if it was rebuilt.

You would think so. But I can’t seem to find any record of it being rebuilt. Only a continuation model 201 made from spare parts. The chassis would have been spaghetti after that shunt.

I must be blind, they look like not very well designed kit cars to me!
