Can anyone tell me what the name of the large metal circlip, which goes on last once the halfshaft is pushed in just behind the brake backing plate into the casing & where I can get a new one or is it all part of the bearing ? many thanks Mike

There are no circlips on the standard taper bearings but there is one on the aftermarket "Green" bearings. That circlip normally comes with the bearing but it will be available as a separate item I'm sure. Hauser racing may be able to help you as could a friendly local bearing stockist if you have one and took in a sample for them to match.
