Mac Tools V8 Trophy - Round 6

Post by Anonymous »

Thought I'd just post our latest results from Rockingham over the weekend.

Revolution racing Takes home a victory in the 2nd race of the weekend with lee O'Keefe behind the wheel of the National Fire Services Benevolent Fund sponsored #99 Pontiac. :trophy:

Sadly it is too little, too late for their chances of winning the series since Colin White has just won too many races and leads the points by 35 over Hunter Abbot (who is in turn ahead of Lee by 45 points).

Tony Hurdle places 5th in the championship 140 points behind Colin. It has been a consistent season for the Automotive Industry benevolent Fund / Klann Tools backed team (run out of the Revolution Racing stable), but a disappointing rounds 7 & 8 hurt any chances of placing higher than 5th. The team has some chassis changes planned for the winter and plan to come out fighting next season.

The #95 car was driven by Chris Robinson this meeting. Chris places 10th in the series in his rookie year as a result of having to miss 2 meetings earlier in the year because of sponsor issues.

Rob Compton's team performed some heroics after he reversed his #59 Air Ambulance backed car into the wall in turn 3 during qualifying. The team with assistance from other teams completely rebuilt the back end of the car and just scrapped getting the car out on gird for the start of the 1st race.
