Indianapolis MoPar club Meet

Post by Anonymous »

OK so as I mentioned on another thread last night was the Indianapolis monthly club meet. Our usual venue wasn't available, so we all went to a Indy Powder Coating to have a demo on how the process works. As it is now spring out here the weather is good enough for some of the members to bring one their cars out from the garage (most of them have at least three, some have 10!!)
Here are a few pics of the cars that did show up, plus one of James having a go at powder coating.

The monthly meets out here are diferent to the UK (at least with our club) they are more like an AGM every month. We heard about a couple of "Crusie-Ins" that are restarting now the weather is better that will be more like the Nags head meet that we hope to go to in the next few weeks. The MoPar met has an agenda and everything, and there isn't really any "bench racing" either, it's all quiet formal.

Oh and the long hair went in November (his choice not mine) when he stopped being a student :hippy2: and got a proper job :ebay:

Cool was the '70 Runner a 4 speed car? I'm lookin' down the right hand side of the engine and it looks like a Z bar. If so it's identical to mine (apart from the colour) 4 speed air grabber coupe. :thumbright:

Shame the engine bay in the Runner was masked by Stevie Wonder, still a nice car though!

James, where's your respiratory equipment? Laura's going to have to spank your bottom! :D

Funny enough the guy there seems to think that you don't respritory equipment to use powder coating! I though that was odd too since coal dust has prooved pretty damaging, so what do we think plastic dust is going to do!

When does the official hand over happen Ivor? Is there a ceremony and all the Pomp and Circumstance of the changing of the guard?

Would it be worth having an internet link between the 2 clubs? That way peeps coming to the US can see what is happening in Indy and peeps form Indy going to the UK can see what is happening there.

Certainly no pomp and circumstance James...more like, you're the chairman, now get on with your work!

Always up for a link across the pond James, especially with cars as slick as that '66 Charger and the '73 Road Runner...I'll put your idea to Martin, it could be good!:thumbright:

Hope things are going well for you mate!
