Brake pipes are lovely. Having hacksawed my own in two I am now panicking about getting them out with engine in situ...
Where did you get the little junction-box thingy on the passenger rail ? (Where the brake pipes all go their separate ways?) Mine is pretty manky and I have a feeling it might not survive the trauma of removal. Should know this week - garage time is starting in earnest.

Where did you get the spring type material around the brake lines.
Morgan the that is the distribution box and emergency brake cut-out if one fronts leak it shuts off the rears and allows the fronts still to work so you can stop and vise verse.
It is made of brass so a bit of heat will help loosen the brakes fittings.
It will clean up like new with a wire brush.

Anton - the springy bits came already fitted to the new parts, but we've reused the old bit that was on the original lines to fit on the home-made section. it could prob do with a spit'n'polish tho

The photos dont do justice to the amount of work that Stu has done over the last few weeks... months... years
Should see a lot more progress soon once the brakes get finished and the console brackets are bolted down in the right place.
Then it'll be engine time

Most of the brake places (inline, fine lines etc) do it now. They call it spiral armor (sic) wrap or combo of those words, search on that and you should find a source - I didn't fine one over here, technically you could 'roll your own' quite easily I'd think.....ANTON wrote:Hi Guys

Yes, we wondered that. Expected it to be shipped ‘dry’, but it’s maintenance free so you can’t remove the caps.
It even says if you do attempt to remove them the warranty is void.
Stuart put it on charge and the charger said it was nearly charged already. So just topped it up.
The limited info it came with doesn’t really say much but could scan it for you.
As for how good they are, we've got one of these on the Polara, that was new just before we got the car. It's lasted 6 years so far with no more than a quick top-up charge once a year, and it takes quite a bashing each time we start the car after it's sat for a while.
If the new one's as good I'll be happy

I will just get my flexis from there I think - they look perfect. Might put a fresh set of discs on too while its all off, I will see how much they are.
