My Big 65 Impala runs a 283ci 195 HP and a 2 speed power glide

Was no slouch 70 in first and would wind the speedo off the clock at 120 no problem....and was quicker than my mates 59 Caddy 390 tri power 4 speed auto.

So as a quick cruiser it hit the spot....needs some work now though :(
lovely car....used it everyday without fail for 11 years, now its just waiting for a resto.
ALL KILLER NO FILLER
Nostalgia, its not what it used to be.

I used to have a '65 SS Impala convertible Steve, had a 327ci / glide and was quite nippy. I dropped a 283 in it while i rebuilt the 327 and could barely notice the difference

My ol' 68 Satellite had a "smog" 1975 318 in it and 2.76 gears, but regularly ran 15.0 at 96 mph (crossing the line in 2nd gear!). Never quite got a 14 out of it. Much under-rated engine.
