Shock question

Put new shocks (supplied in UK) on the front of my Charger about 2 years ago - probably only done 1500 miles since. When out the other day, the car developed a clunk when jumping on the brakes, then about 20 minutes later I stopped and the front of the car seemed slow to rise on O/S/F, as if something was tight on the front end (stuck shocker?). Took a look today, all looks well, took shock off, no leaks, but can hear the oil going through the shock when pumping it and if I leave it 10 mins, when I initially push down on it, there is a slight knock/notch.
Are they duff? (Made is Mexico specials?)
Going to reassemble and try again
All the suspension has been re-bushed and greased 2 days ago for MOT.
Any suggestions

Invest in good quality shocks. Cornering, comfort and stopping will be much better and they actually last for years and years.

They really are worth the money.

Been out again - might be a ball joint or something else - only when braking. Have done top ball joints, botttom ones aren't that old either. Nothing looks like its gonna fall off, so have to put up with it for now

Check your lower control arm, right where it pivots ,the k frame/pivot area

,jack the front end up and lay under it and have some one move the steering wheel and watch for any movement in that area it should be solid and only move up and down not side to side it might have a crack ,

the is what my chally did out in the desert a big clunk,and the frame was cracked

If that is not it perhaps check to see if your brake calipers are loose or, the pad inside the caliper might be worn enough to slop in the caliper and cause a clunk,pull the wheel and check your calipers , spin the hub and have some one step on the brakes , see what happens, sometimes when I back my car up and then drive forward the pads clunk a little
