E10 - Fuel eaten my fuel lines !
Dodge charger 68
Complete fuel system only 6 years old
Torques (EBay) AN10 hose - feed and return
Cheap pump gas only E10
Car gets used very little and has sat for 3 years with fuel in the lines
Went to start it up and all the fuel lines are Bananarama! fuel
Seems the E10 has rotted all the lines !!!
I can’t believe it - check yours

Re: E10 - Fuel eaten my fuel lines !
Yes, we had a Corvette with EFI and AN Hoses in the garage, it had stood a long time before the customer sent it to us (From Spain!!).
EFI runs at least 45 psi with the pump in the tank, and when went to start the car, there was fuel all over the place as the main line went porous.
On the above guidance, when I had to re-do the fuel system on the Challenger (to meet "revised Scrutineering requirements) I followed "Torques" Advice and installed all Teflon pipes and new fittings.
The only good thing is that the new lines are far less bulky and an AN-10 Line looks like and AN-6 old style line.
That's progress for you....

Re: E10 - Fuel eaten my fuel lines !
I hope you have better luck than me, quite a few years back, I ran Torques fitting on my fuel supply. System was fine when starting up, no leaks, etc.
If I left it a week or so & fittings would leak till they had soaked with fuel, leak would then stop. I obviously wasn’t a fan of fuel spraying out, so stepped up to BMRS Fiitings & limes, never had an issue since.
I also had an issue with their black hose going hard on any of the oil lines.
I know others have used Torques with success, so good luck

Re: E10 - Fuel eaten my fuel lines !
I've used Torques exclusively for several years now without issue, but I don't use E10. Given all the internet chatter about E10 attacking fuel lines and the probability that the ethanol percentage in pump fuel is liable to increase as time goes on, I'm now using teflon lined hose.

I use teflon lined AN fittings on the Charger but use Gates Barricade hose on the Ford model A

Good link, thank you.

Did all of mine a few years ago now. Went with Teflon braided due to the Ethanol content and sitting for long periods. Do yearly checks, but so far i've not had an issue.
Bit more cost initially, but I wanted fit and forget (less worry).

After seeing your post here it prompted me to re'post one of mine from years ago
After some looking it to the fuels again, came across with this
Esso Synergy petrol
What’s in our Synergy Supreme+ 99 premium petrol?
Our Synergy Supreme+ 99 petrol has more cleaning power than our regular petrol – and includes molecules engineered to reduce friction in your engine and help moving parts work more efficiently.*
Although our pumps have E5 labels on them, our Synergy Supreme+ 99 is ethanol-free (except, due to technical supply reasons, in Devon, Cornwall, North Wales, North England and Scotland). Legislation requires us to place E5 labels on pumps that dispense unleaded petrol with ‘up to 5% ethanol’, including those that contain no ethanol.
There’s currently no requirement for renewable fuel, like ethanol, to be present in super unleaded petrol. However, if this changes in the future, we will comply with any new legislation.

I remember hearing it was the same with Tesco 99 = Ethanol free. Problem they had, is that it was also regional and dependent on which refinery/storage depot the tanker came from. Only run mine on 98/99 anyway, but always expect it to have ethanol in.TIB3300 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 23 8:23 pm After seeing your post here it prompted me to re'post one of mine from years ago

Watched a BBC archive film of John Dodd and the Beast. He used to run that monster on two star back in the day. I remember 4 star (still young), but that's as far as my memory goes. They keep 'improving' things for efficiency etc. Just gets more complicated and impacts on items that were never intended to run on it.
I wonder how lone before we get E85?
