Not as much texture as I wanted but I have enough hours in now, I can live with it. Decals to add as a finishing touch.

Like it.
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…

Nice
Re: Blue's Barracuda
All done. I deliberately taped the line lock switch to the stick as that’s the way the racers did it in the ‘70s. Just the prop debacle to resolve and I’m back on the road. I wanted an Aluminium prop which will have to come from the states, Basically I’ve wasted months waiting for various suppliers to tell me they won’t deal with me due to me being in the UK even if I have it shipped to a US address. Seems to be a knock on effect of Brexit, some US suppliers don’t want to get involved in the additional paperwork required now.

Re: Blue's Barracuda
if you have a friend with a us address why not forward the money to them so they can order it for you and just pass on whatever the postage costs are to you. at least someone in the us is dealing with the supplier that way.

I don’t have anyone in the States to do thar unfortunately. I’m getting a steel one made for now and will look into getting an ally one supplied via one of the UK Race shops such as Andy Robinson at a later date.

Re: Blue's Barracuda
i'm sure someone like ray of rays classic cars https://raysclassiccars.com/ would do it for you. he's an english guy who moved to the us 40+ years ago, he advertises in all the american/custom mags here. very nice guy and he could probably put it in a vehicle he's sending to the uk for you. it's definately worth getting in touch with him.

this works as well
you need an oven at say 40* or a nice sunny day paint goes on like thin smoothrite then the magic happens if its warm enough
given my inability to do anything neat and tidy and my inability to avoid clodding paint on like i was buttering toast...I had some success with it...
i was both amused and relieved to have a rocker cover with only 1 run in it....

Re: Blue's Barracuda
Yes used wrinkle finish many a time with good results, what I was really after was a textured stone chip type finish in an aerosol. I’ve had it before but I can’t remember what I used.

Re: Blue's Barracuda
Prop finally sorted, Mark Williams forged yokes, spicer solid 1350 joints, 3” steel tube. 5lbs heavier that the broken original but I’m back in action at least.
