favourite single-1st single

Post by gmopar59 »

For me the first single i bought (pocket money) was a toss up between 1972 'Telegram Sam' or 'Softly wispering i love' you by the confedoration. I bought the latter. Did get TRex next week. Favourite single of all time is 'hold back the night' by the tramps around 1975. :rr:

First shop bought 7" Bo Rap, Queen from WoolWorths. 1976
Previous to that it was rock and roll and interesting stuff from jumble sales, like Brontosaurus Stomp by the Piltdown Men, plus the odd Bill Hailey etc on 78.
Favourite Single; Public Image by Public Image, or Another Girl, Another Planet by the Only Ones. Youthful memories.

I think your 2nd purchase was a bit more credible? Golden Years by Bowie? IIRC :rr:

... I'm not mentioning my first.

Good song.

My favorite has always been Thin Lizzy - Don't Believe a Word (1976). It blew my mind when I first heard it as a kid and it's still my favorite song.

Have to agree there. Still blows me away and better than 'The Boys...'
Mind you I have caught myself humming along to the Bay City Rollers
