Auction Action

Post by Faux-7-0 »

Might go and have a look at this:-
https://www.historics.co.uk/auction/lot ... 6&pn=1&g=1
Was previously on C&C at 25k so mid point of the estimate.

And, because I do like a Toro' (although 66/67 in preference)

They are both nice cars from the photos, but I think the Toro is a bargain and love the colour :thumbright:
Good luck

Im with Ali, love the Toronado. Hate the wheels on the Charger, original would be better in my opinion or some ' normal' chrome 500s. I really dont like those bigger new versions of the 500 that Chip Foose used all the time. Nice car though, looks great in black :thumbright:

The Charger does apparently come with original wheels too so that's Steve placated.

Here's something else I encountered:-

Thats lovely. Ive got a big soft spot for chrome Magnum 500s and BFG RWL tyres. Had a set exactly like that on my car just to scratch the itch but they looked a bit too sporty for it. Sold on now and going back to the original (obviously #-o ) painted 14" 500s when I get my new tyres fitted :thumbright:

Goes without saying, I hate the non original instrument cluster [-( :D

Well, I had a very enjoyable day yesterday perusing the lots ahead of Saturday,'s Historics auction and have learned several things. The driving position on an etype roadster doesn't suit me but a 59 impala does. The Diamond T is tiny. I really like old bmws. I'm very comfortable in Bentleys and escalades and that the 72 charger is probably worth bidding on. Here's a few pictures. ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Went to the Historics Auction Saturday and agree that there were some outstanding cars to view. I was especially interested in the bidding on the 1972 Charger as it was in very nice condition and well optioned being a SE. I was surprised it didn't sell for more given the condition; ended up selling for 20,500 including fees. The only thing holding it back in my opinion was the lack of the big block engine option.

Unsurprisingly, the Charger is back up for sale at 25k. Which is what the previous owner advertised it for and had no takers.

The Charger does appear to be in nice condition and non-modified outside of the 17" wheels but the price achieved at the auction is the top of the market for a 3rd generation 318ci Charger. Best of luck to him in flipping it.
