Bananarama! knows why I put it in the rear servo pot of parts.
I just didn't remember where it came from.
It was the sniff test , and it not smelling of auto trans , that made me think I'd used it on the strip down.
More thinking 🤔 and I worked it out.

You’re nearly there now, I recommend air testing it before you fit the valve body, you can at least prove the clutch packs and bands will apply.

I've just put the compressor on to do just that.
Fingers crossed it works .

Nearly there.
This filter extension was made up by someone on this forum, I bought it about 10 years ago, I can't remember his name .

nice extension :thumbright:
myself i'd add a 'strut' between the 2 bolts/nuts at the filter down to the plate at the valve body (to the right in the pic). it should be fine but i'm a belt and braces type of guy, lol. it's my farming background i'm afraid.

Agreed, me too on the belt and braces :)
Its is well made , I don't know if it will vibrate or not.
It was made by a guy on this forum, but I can't remember his name, I think he made quite a few.
I'm sure someone on here will know who it was.

That's it done , the stainless cap bolts arrived yesterday, so there in , loc tighted and torqued up.
Now I've just got the remove 8 years of piled up , and stuffed underneath the Dodge Dart detritus.
That's in the picture behind the gearbox.
I've got a few other car jobs to attend to first though 🙄

I cleared off the top. No rodent damage luckily.
There's still some stuff underneath yet.

It didn't all fit in that dustbin did it?
Or did you move it to another car? that's what i end up doing unless we use both cars, then i have to fit it all in the boot of my daily.
I should probably have a proper clear out.

You know the score :D I moved the seats that were on the roof of the dart into the back of the escort van, got rid of all the boxes that I was keeping for no reason.
Re tidying up stuff I want to keep. Re stacked every thing .

a mate has a cure for hoarding stuff he'll never use, but it takes will power. when he puts a box of 'stuff' in his shed he'll tape it shut and put the date on top. if when in the shed he sees a box that's dated over 12 months ago he takes it to the tip without opening it (that's the will power bit). i get that's more relevant for household stuff but if you're like most of us there always seems to be some of that too that's sneaked into the garage. nowadays i'll write on a box what's in it for when i'm looking for something i'd put in a safe place so i'd know where it was #-o
