Yes Polar is a old school white with a green tint
Having done a scan with my paint man we’ve came up with
Porsche Grand Prix White as a virtual colour match,
As actual Polar would be a computer mix as there’s no direct colour that can be mixed now due to acrylic being almost nonexistent,

So some kind of compromise is needed!

Modern whites like Ford Frozen and Mercedes Arctic are just too White !
It’s an old car and needs to be in old fashioned colours 🤣

And yes the whole black Cowl, inner fenders under bonnet and slam are a proper pain and makes tons of extra work for zero improvement ffs
But when one see’s a TA or Z28 etc with body colours under the hood it just looks crap !
One of the biggest issues is by facto 2k is very shiny so matting it down is a pain !

Managed to get a second front quarter in the booth and got it re epoxied and it’s now ready for sealing the seems and getting it to final primer
I’m fortunate to have a spare small room in my booth for panels etc

Well the turds back on 4 wheels now,
Colours not far off now!

Fully poly bushed with all new housings,
New bump stops , Pro Forged upper and lower ball joints,
I’ve a complete new Proforged steering linkage still to fit along with new springs new rotors new calipres ,
But I’ll for these once the shell is in paint

Managed to get a few more bits fitted,
And I’ve completed the hood both quarters and one door at work, so one remaining door and the turds ready for colour,

I’m going with Porsche Grand Prix White, virtually indistinguishable from GM Polar White, but it’s a catalog colour so far easier to reproduce if required,

Cheers guys
Milestone reached today, got the last panel the right hand door shell in final primer ,
Line drawn now, I guess there will be some minor wobbly bits but it’s not a show queen and will be driven and used as much as I can !

when i was being fussy with bodywork my dad would say ''that's good enough, it's not a rolls royce'', lol. as you say you have to draw the line at some point. i imagine from seeing your work your 'line' is a bit further on than most. :thumbright:
