well the zephyr's off home saturday morning. the wolseley's being dropped off on monday and the viva axle belongs to a mate of his so he'll take it back with him then which is handy. he's also bringing the rover v8 and 5 speed here when he collects his wolseley which gives me the engine and box i need for the mk2 zodiac. it's all happening here, lol.

the wolselely is now arriving tomorrow, luckily a couple of hours after the zephyr leaves so there'll be time for a good tidy up and sweep through.

so the zephyr's gone, the axle's gone and the wolseley's in the garage. we'll roll it as far forward as it'll go so we can wheel the run stand out away from the lathe and get it finished so we can finally see what this 360 engine is like. once we know (either way) we can put the engine back on a small dolly and take the run stand apart to give us a big lump of extra room.
if it runs well we can get it stabbed into ashley's zephyr asap to get even more room.

the run stand is now fully wired to the 360 fe engine. well almost.... i forgot to get plug leads, doh!

oh well, we can plumb the fuel system and hook up the boat hand throttle while we wait for the leads to arrive.

the roof chop's finished on the model a truck now and yes i forgot to take my camera
my mate's going to take plenty and we'll get them sent to me soon.

further to the 390 fe build for my nash i just ordered a set of standard bore 360 hyperutectic pistons (same bore as a 390 but taller compression height for more compression), rings, a full felpro gasket set and 10 under big end shells. i already have a nos set of 10 under mains. so one of the 352 blocks i have will be bored 50 over to suit the pistons and the 390 crank ground to 10/10. if it won't clean up i do have 20 under ends and mains here just in case, lol.

i ordered the 5 link parts and rear discs and calipers for the wolseley today. we can get the brakes done with the axle up on the bench where it'll be easier rather than once it's mounted to the chassis.

bits are trickling in, both for the wolseley and for my 390 engine build.
wolseley first, the rear h/brake calipers and both 5 link kits.
390 next, pistons, rings, big ends and gasket set.

so the 360 engine will go over the road until i can afford a rebuild/stroker kit/ally heads. it wouldn't 'tune' to run better so a compression test was next up......... oh dear. they varied from 55psi to 80psi so that's no good then. the run stand is now stripped apart and the engine will be off the build stand tomorrow so we can make room to get on with the wolseley.

i forgot to say i've paid a deposit on a set of polished centreline auto drags for my mk2 zodiac. i'll be meeting pete (buggypete on rodsnsods) the sunday after next to collect them. they are 4 stud ford (4 1/4" pcd) so i'll have to change the car to 4 stud but it's nothing we didn't do on scott's mk2 zephyr years ago so....
