i'm new to this, but evn thrashing mine up the track I had the nagging concern that If I blew something I was 250 miles from home and very much alone.
Its nice to say I did 500 miles trouble free and raced, but what if.....

Exactly mate, having been there, l know! It's alright until the day it goes wrong, you sit there watching everyone leave, wating for the breakdown truck, and you don't get home 'till well past midnight. I like to get home, put the car away, then go out for something to eat, nice end to the weekend!! :thumbright:
On another point though, at a Gary's Picnic, mid '80's, l drove my car up to the Pod, raced it all weekend, then towed home a broken down Bedford CF!!!

Hi Steve,

Did you use your GT as a tow vehicle ?

Who would have thought the day would have come when a GT was worth more than a Challenger ?

All the best

I've driven home with a busted spring perch (taking it very easy), cracked convertor snout (very messy), broken header primary(very noisy), 8 broken top rings and a cracked piston (little bit smokey). Not all at the same time I might add!! :D Only been recovered once, off the M25 going to shakey, duff Holley fuel pump, swapped in a new one in Tesco car park and got to Shakey 3hrs late. Guess I've been a lucky bunny! 8-) 8-) 8-)

Very few of the owners on here have full on racecars which is why i like the MMA
Street driven and raced....so as we see most of the cars from time to time at shows and cruises...trailering to the races is ok with me.

I dont have a garage next to the house, so when i get home i have to unpack the Cuda, put it away lock up, pack everything in to my honda, drive home and unpack it again into the house, this can take quite some time...and after a long weekend racing..its a real pain.
add waiting for the AA/RAC and that would really do it for me

At one time, i would always drive to the pod, bolt the slicks on, race and go home, i didn't have a trailer and drove whatever car i had all the time.
