Yes I've heard it a million times too along with Carrots help you see in the dark and that ain't right either To be fair, the old count the turns method will at least get you within the range of the tracking gauge so it has some relevance.

Thanks all - sorted, and now that' it all straightened out, I can even feel the benefit of the new tie-rod ends on the steering. A full 4 turns loose on each.
