That's a nice wheel Dave, you will be amazed how different the car feels on the road with a slightly smaller dia and wider rim, I know I was with mine. Richard.

More Driving than modding this year so far.

Big Milestone was finally getting the car to the NATS......... :D

So now to look at the next stage of changes.

Never been a fan of the crusty, dented rear bumper or the overriders. So another cosmetic improvement to be done.
Found a great condition rear bumper to help make it look a little better a while back.....

Old...

Rubbed all this down and tidied it up. Painted all the mounting brackets matt black.

Have a few other little things to sort, but I'm now at the point at which I need more GO.
The supporting mods that it requires.......... Well, I started collecting these a few years ago to help with the end goal.

The engine is at the point where I can't go any further without wasting money. All mods done, have been done with the final image in mind and these will transfer across to assist.

Reality is the next few bits are individually expensive and with the new arrival due in November, it's not gonna happen until the Duster is sold.

Big question is Crate Motor or getting one built?

Then out of the blue last month, something came up for sale that i couldnt ignore. This has pushed me down a particular route. 8-)

Looking good Dave :thumbright: those rear lenses look in great shape as well.

Nice find with the heads Dave. I've given up on getting some for my Mistang. The exchange rate post Brexit is so crap it makes it unviable.
Next question is what motor will you build/have built for it?

Cheers Guys,

I like the thought of being different!
Plus (the biggest issue), the fact I haven't got a 360 as a base is an expensive problem........

As i've been reading up on stuff from the states.........I've got a real itch to build a 390/392 by putting a stoker in the 318.

Not sure there are any in the UK at the moment, plus everyone is building 408s.......Be good to see what the outcome is.

Totally agree with Pete on that .
Stroke that 318 to 392 Dave, you know you want to. Might have to wait for the £/$ rate to improve a fair bit thought.
I got caught ( 1.25 $ to £ paypal rate) after having to buy a new gas tank after the original leaked and the spare tank with a sump leaked on first fill and I needed my MOT doing. Cheers Chris

 ......... 9 Months since the last update.

Good reason being Child No.2 Arrived 7 months ago.

Finally got her out for the first time this year for the dreaded MOT. Que a 6am start due to lack of some essential lighting.

Managed to get it sorted in the end (earths and connections) and took it to get a ticket.........Passed! :D

Hoping to get started on the next phase of work this year.

Manual steering has jumped to the top of the list as one of the steering rack seals has decided to leak....so may as well get that done.

Then I'll be upgrading the whole rear end......

Ahh the dreaded test...then the elation at a pass.
Car looks a right bruiser Dave, I like it.
I'd bin the power steering too , my 66 had it, too light.
The 65 was manual ,great solid feel to it.
The 49 Plymouth is manual.......ship ahoy!!!

So I've had a few issues with the car.

An Electrical gremlin within the steering column somewhere, which momentarily sounds the horn and also flickers lights on the dash. I also get a Bananarama! of the lights by changing gear on the column.

This put a stop to the Nats this year as I didn't want to do around 200 miles with a possible shirt in the wiring.

Other issue was that after having the Duster and Manual steering, it just proved to me that the PS setup is over assisted and comparably, void of any feel/connection to the road.

So I've managed to bag myself a flaming river adaptor and a manual A body box from members on here.

Had the Dodge booked in a Jims place to have the work done. Steering Conversion is past my comfort zone and the electrical gremlin, due to family commitments, I just can't find the time at the mo.
