Just a thought, to improve the chances of getting good shots of the cars on the stand, is there an alternative to the 'bunting' that we usually drape around the stand?
It's very difficult to get a clear shot that hasn't got loads of flags in it.
If we do need something to keep the hoy-poloy off the stand (do we?) maybe just some rope or plastic chain?
(I can hear the H&S marshals now saying hat anything needs to high-vis so people don't walk into it...)

Good point - our usual 'bunting' does rather dominate any pics taken of cars on ours stand... :?

Thanks Rob and Stu....I was hoping you'd be going again this year. The stand is going to be in a different hall if i remember rightly so dont know whether the lighting might be better than last year. But yes bunting can be a ruination, but it doesnt to be there all the time I think.

Something like that shot of Matts Challenger with background movement is spot on.

Many thanks

Simon

While there's still some nice driving weather why not get out there with a decent resolution camera and post up something like GJUKs shot.

If you like things can be done with it, so just quickly here's the same shot turned black and white and painterly.

Just trying to promote interest in getting more than 12 shots for people to consider.

I am not in anyway a professional photographer but some tips would be

a) think about background....even a Staples car park brick wall can make a good back drop
b) think about setting....my Charger is 2006 so would not look so good as a 1968 Charger would in an old petrol station with old pumps; so I took some shots of it next to another modern power source
c) think about positioning.....lining up the drain to run under the centre of the car (and colour...black and white can look cool)
d) think about unique or different features of your car....using my A pillar spotlights for example

Trying to generate some extra enthusiasm....you dont have to have a £1,000 camera, I can sort some image tinkering, so get snapping! :)

I think it should be a calendar full of naked women to hang in my garage.

Since Mandy has worked so hard for this club there should also be a Mandy special calendar with naked male members across there cars

So, just trying to get this back on a constructive footing again the preferred option seems to be A4 wall hanging type. Our printer has advised me the most popular option is saddle stitched with a drill hole that is used for hanging. It is cheaper than spiral wire binding and easier to send in the post as the wires can get crushed on the other type.

In terms of numbers those of who that have indicated you would be interested amount to around 20 calendars (as some have said they would like more than one). So I have asked for a quote for a one off run of 20 and a quote for 50 in case there is more demand. So far two businesses have expressed an interest in sponsoring a page - thank you Dave Madders and Duncan Watts - so I will be able to talk with you about firming that up once we know what price per unit quote is.

As for the quality of the photos the file size needs to be around 1MB or higher to be good enough to use. So some of the photos posted on this thread so far can only work if they are totally in focus and the original is of that size. Anything out of focus or too small in resolution can't be used.

I wanted to give everyone opportunity to consider what has been posted on the forum rather than just stick up stuff I like. But since no-one's really perhaps got the time or will to go through the forum I'm going to make some suggestions. I've looked through Workshop threads, members car show threads, events threads etc to get a selection of new and old models in racing/projects/show photos adding in some of your posts on this thread here are 19 to choose from. I am really hoping there will be others from the NEC but that's the deadline if we are going to go for it this year.

As I say it is cost dependant so this is not a certainty by any means, but please do list your top 12 from the following 19 and we will see what sort of shots might make it into an MMA calendar. Thank you.
