Finished off a couple of jobs before the HRD's. Ran new battery cable and wired everything in the boot, When you hit the kill switch it shuts off all the electrics and stops the engine. I'd like to say I didn't measure the distance between the cable ties but ermm....

Also fitted a floor mounted handbrake, I don't much care for the stock set up and it will be in the way shortly so out it came. Lever is from a Mini, just needed to weld on some lugs to bolt it to the floor.
Metalflake grip is a vintage Schwinn item I just happened to have in stock.
Needed pass through the frame connector so I welded in a tube to pass it through. Speedy cables made me a cable, so all I needed to do was weld in a bracket at each end to hold it in place. works a treat and lighter into the bargain.

Last run out this year, MOT time. Got it home and started pulling it apart before it had even cooled down, this winters refit is underway. Updates coming soon...

Steering column, you can see where I'm going with this. 3/4" DOM steel tube with a splined UJ to fit the box, 3 bolt hub to fit my wheel, all sourced from Speedway motors. 1.5" ally outer case with nylon bushes spun up by the Trevmiester, just need to fab 1 more bracket & a new panel where it passes through the firewall and it can all be welded up, job done.

You need to take one of those pedals out, that is a design flaw ;) ;) ;) ;)

Blue,
Is there any form of deformation allowance in the column (collapsible)?

Looks great by the way! :thumbright:

Also, what were the reasons for the change.........direct feel in hand, space in the bay for the new motor and clean look, or just cosmetic/aesthetic?

It's a Great build to follow, love custom stuff........ 8-)

It's a fraction of the weight of the original and I like the way it looks. Like all race columns, it doesn't collapse.

Hey blue why not use roller bearing instead of nylon bushes.
