Well another year rolls around so what to do.

Work and life have been incredibly busy since the start of Jan 25, so time to tinker, bar the racing, is rare.

What to do......
Well, the car is where it is with the motor. The only thing I can think of next is roller cam and trick flow heads. However, i have no appetite to spend another £3k to £4k. I've sunk enough into it in the last few years.

One thing that came up last year, was the fact that a few times the car seemingly wanted to do one wheel burnouts. The diff was built by six pack speed shop back around 2015.
It's always whined and with no interior was headache inducing on long runs.

Most of the rear end is from Dr Diff in the US, so a quick email to Cass about options and he provided some options. I really wanted to put something more modern in to see if it gains me anything.

Apparently Eaton has got some quality issues, so a few weeks of research and it does seem that vibration at higher speeds is an apparent issue. Well, not going that way, so I've ended up going with the Dr Diffs own Sure Trac 2.

As it arrived

I think that is a good call, I have gone with a Tru-track in the Valiant too!

Bolted together with new bearings etc:

I drove the car the 30 miles home after it was fitted by Jim, and well its a significant improvement in noise.
Car also seems to be spinning both wheels following a short test, so happy with having it sorted.

Next....
The car has been in its current visual setup for well over 10 years.
One of the big things that will surely not be helping my 1/4 mile times is the massive air break on the hood.
I like the look, but have always preferred the six pack setup.

I think is suits the 70+ shape better and by going for a standard scoop, it should assist by reducing drag over what i currently have.
So, as Dale is no more sadly, i ended up going with Aaron from Formex Composites. Id seen a few other cars with his stuff on, so had a good gauge on quality.

So, after enquiring as to what was available (quiet a few body panels amazingly), I ended up going for the revised hood and the lower front valance.
The valance he had already built and had in stock, and as the one on my car is not exactly mint, I thought why not.
I held off buying anything more, as me being me, I can be picky and wanted to check to see if I want to go down that road.

Ordered mid Feb 26, which as i've found out is probably the busiest time for him with the upcoming race season in varying sports.
It then got delayed another two week due to Bananarama! poor DPD delivery work...... Its a parcel service which has problems collecting and then delivering to the agreed date, when they do have it. Muppets!

Fully intended to work on the new parts, do some bodywork, paint and then bolt on for the Nostalgia Nationals. Thought id ordered in enough time, but sadly they only arrived this Monday, 27th April, so about 10 weeks.

Packaging for delivery is.......Interesting. Thankfully it did not turn up damaged.

So, i have some work to do for Dragstalgia:

I've also started to work on the interior, removing surface rust, seam sealer etc.
I also need to get on and paint the roll cage, which i have started, but again, weather and time have limited the ability to do that work

No pics of that work so far, but started on the passenger side, so the seat is out = proper race car stuff.
Will update in the next few weeks, when i have something worth showing.
