Oh yes... That would be my ideal next Mopar. What you are doing is spot on, with exactly the right car.
I do own and have owned a lot of 440 and Hemi cars over the years, and I clearly enjoy them, but where you are going is the next step. I am watching the build of this car with great interest. I just love it.

Well thanks Jim! I now feel a stroker small block in an A body is a better idea than the old big block route. The other way is a new gen. Hemi, they have great potential and I think once the aftermarket get around to producing a few more parts for them such as headers and intake manifolds for carbs you'll see a lot more being retro fitted, they are light and can produce 600 odd HP without trying too hard.

A base Valiant with stroker small block does it for me. I don't know your plans but if it was me.... I'd run a quick shifting 5 speed (old 4 speeds are too slow, and too heavy), good brakes, and a handling package... Oh yes.
Just a thought.. Do you remember the small block Valiant Mopar Action successfully roundy roundy raced about 15 years ago? I remember the reg on it was NUKE GM. They did a great job with that car.
Also, you mention a modern Hemi.. At the Mopar Nat's in the USA a couple of months ago I saw a very tastefully built 70 Dart with a new Hemi installed, very nice indeed. As more new parts become available we'll see more of that.
I think the Hobby is evolving.

Yes that's right! That car surprised a lot of people. It showed the potential of a small block A body. Great stuff.

Blue, headers mounts intakes etc are readily available for the gen 3 hemi, I've done a lot of research on the subject and it is the way I'm going, although keeping the injection etc, but have to agree a good small block is the way to go now for street use, back in the 80's and 90's it was big block only if you wanted to go fast, nowadays with the technology available there are many more choices, I personally like the 68-69 valiant and can't wait to see what you do with the car
