Shakey's

First run of the year for me today. Shakey's was packed, never seen so many scoobies and evo's in one place. Ran a personal best of 13.9 @ 101mph even though there was a strong headwind so pretty pleased. Last years fuel problems have been sorted with a new fuel line and Holley pump. Next on the list is some better tyres, those Coopers have no grip at all, they've been on the car for two years and still look new!

Cheers lads, got the rear bumper ages ago but no luck with the front, think the front is straight enough to chrome so maybe do that instead.
Adam, don't want to go for slicks, just looking for a grippy street tyre to try. I did hear about some tyres that are sort of treaded slicks for the street but can't remember what they are called.

Mickey Thomsons for street or strip, wouldn't use Hossiers for the road, their to thin.

Cost me a fortune in Hoosiers QT, punctures.....................................

"DOT slicks", not legal for road use in the UK ;)

Rich, arranged to meet a mate from work who's got an 81 Corvette at Stonebridge this morning. Didn't know a load of his mates whould be coming too until I got there. There was a Skyline, a Scoobie, an RX8 and at least 4 others so we drove down in a convoy. The Skyline and the Scoobie ran high 15's, the RX8 ran a 15.4 and the Corvette ran a 14.3. Victory to the American iron I'd say.

Mick, yes first time into the 13's but it could have been better. My 60 foot times were down almost half a second and there was a strong headwind. Ok about slicks but I want to see what this car will do on street tires first.

According to the wallace calculator, best et on 101mph is 13.12 sec, best 60 ft on 13.90 is 1.93.
I hope to be out in a couple of weeks, not sure where yet.
