Thinking about buying a set of front runners, 27 or 28 tall, they must fit a 3.5 c.line and be legal for the street.
It would be nice to hear your opinions

I have 7.10x15 Moroso drag specials on the front of the Dart, they have a street tread and I did 800 miles on them last year with out incident. Mickey Thompson Sportsman fronts are the only other option I can think of, but they are quite a bit heavier.

Do you run radials on the back?, just thinking about the mixing of crossplys and radials.

I would prefer a radial but i'm after at least a 27" tyre' to try and level the car a little more.
SS spring A bodies, often sit too high at the back, i may remake the front spring hangers again if i'm not happy with the tyres.
To be honest, the 165 VW tyres i'm using aren't a very high load rating either.

I have M/T Sportsmans on the back Mick. The law used to be if the tread on a pair of rear crossplies was over 10" wide, you could legally run radials on the front. I haven't checked recently to see if the law has changed on that one.

Thanks but i wasn't after the legality, I think i asked the wrong question, i was thinking that i would need to either have radials all round, or crossplies.
From years ago, i seem to recall, crossplies finding every groove in the road.

I have M/T sportsmans and they are OK; given that the car drives crap on the street anyway. Great way to lower the ride height and still have ground clearance - worth the trade off.
