Welcome , that car of yours looks like its going to be fun , you could say its a mongrel of a car than a pedigree, but you can have lots of fun with a mongrel :D
MOPAR - Move Over Power Arriving Rapidly

Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay My Mopar upon you

Welcome Jonny :thumbright: I know you. Or at least email buddy know you. Glad you went for the Charger. I'm still in San Francisco but thought it was you when I saw your other projects. Nice one.

The board knows all, you have a resource here that will answer any questions.

Ps I just drove my rental car down Taylor street in SF, not as fast as they did in Bullitt but I was thinking about it. :D

Yeas, but that's a secret

Yeah, the Impala is slowly getting there. As usual the perfect Charger came my way at the worst time but I couldn't let it slip through the net. The impala chassis finished so it's time for paint soon.

Impala will be for polishing
Charger will be for wire brushing

Cheers fellas. Everyone is very friendly here, which is fantastic.

Sorry no swaps - it's a taken a loooong time to find a Charger like this (or not get gazumped when you do) so she's a keeper. I won't paint it, but i will protect it and bring back the interior.

The Impala? Well, this is what a fully reinforced lowrider chassis looks like after 8 months of solid (!) work...

WITH LOTS OF THIS
The entire chassis has been plated in 6mm steel - easier than it sounds.

Lots still to do. Just bought chrome master cylinder, servo and disc brake conversion. The chassis alone weighs 2 tons now.

Lots of hard work, I can appreciate for sure... :thumbright:

Surely there are other ways to get a stronger, stiffer chassis other than adding weight & thick plate

2 Tons is a lot of weight just for a chassis

I have looked into lowrider chassis 'wrapping' in tons of detail and basically there's no better way bar building a tubular chassis from scratch. Both methods take bloody ages but at least this way makes the car seem stock (follows all contours) but ensures she will never EVER flex.

In for paint in the next few weeks after waiting for over 18 months. The Impala will be for polishing, the charger for punishing ;)

Welcome
How cool is that Charger. That'll shock a few that's for sure.
I feel a Member's Mopar inclusion coming on.

Hey there mate - thanks for the welcome. Everyone is muchos friendly here.

The Charger arrives TOMORROW in England and I am set to collect her on Weds, then getting married on Saturday. The car will be at the wedding on a trailer, and we may stick the fuel tank in and fire the 383 up....
