what happened to the Aussie charger club drag racing project
When i was in the Aussie Charger club, they started to build an Aussie Charger ( for drag racing) and asked members for donated parts and voulentary help...this project started, but does anyone know what happened to it?
Is it the blue VJ that was at Great leighs hot rod show years ago, it was tubbed and looked race only, very tidy. I have never seen it since.
Can't find a pic at the moment, it was Petty Blue.
It had a Ford engine I think, poss a 460?

So I wonder who actually owns the car now the club has folded?
It would be great to see a proper race Aussie Mopar, now that Kev's has gone and the Mopar Menace rebuild appears to have stalled...last I heard it was in a garage near Dunstable with a Chevy lump in it and was advertised on Eurodragster some time back...does anyone know what's happened to it?

There should be a new one appearing at the Nats this year mate of mine Chris from Hemel with a 360 Valiant
Think it has Kevs front wings and hood
I will try and get him to post up a picture this week nearly done
Anyway here's the front shot, and 460 in the Charger "assumed" the club race car

I think this one (not the blue one) sat outside the Bush Ranger pub on Wells road (Goldhawk road bus depot) (Goldhawk road) on a trailer for at least 6 months in 2000 (when was it scrapped?)AllKiller wrote:The Blue Car at Great Leighs is not the Club race car according tio Stuart Cole it never Transpired from this...
the man who owned it ran a car repair buisness from the basement of his house. closed down....
it was a body and running gear and that was all but those red wheels...can't be missed.
he was going to build a race car

Club folded 94-95. I was at Billing with them, parked with my Challenger at the time as I didnt know anything about Aussie Muscle. This must have been the clubs last outing, Kevs Val was there, pre Kev and a few Chargers.
Stuart who ran the club passed the club records on to me a few years later and I also now own the club sign which was donated to me by Ian Spencer in 2004 in appreciation of my getting the Aussie cars back on the map, ( and getting Classic American to do an Aussie special issue).
Hopefully some of these cars are still hiding somewhere in DRY barns.
