Oh well, only a few weeks away now. What is everyone hoping to run ??

I`m aiming for the following :

Valiant ... 10.3

Charger ... 11.0

Belvedere ... 11.6

;)

Be really nice if I came home without anything busted.

I'll be happy enough with a 12.3 like it always used to run at the Nats.

But a dip into the 11s once more would be perfect.

Hats orf to you JC!

Three cars at the Nats and all QUICK TOO!!!

I haven't had one car at the Nats since I can't remember, and when I did it was a head rush just running ONE!!!
I always wanted to run a TEN, and when I did it was a thrill and a massive achievement, well recommended for everyone.
Should have going and got a pesky NINE?

Keep up the good work Jon, you are a Mopar Star!!! :thumbright:

Best of luck Bacca.

Two of 'our' (MMA) cars that really impressed me were; Jon's Valiant, you could see the movement on the second gear shifts and the Plodge car after the recent problems. Both running 10's, credit to all involved :thumbright:

Thanks for that, Miles.
I do not think that the "Plodge" has had nearly enough recognition within the club, given that it is a real "budget" car in the spirit of hot rod racing; and Roydon has next to no experience in either constructing or driving such a vehicle.

He has clearly done a cracking job on a car that could have been so easily scrapped (It still has a V5) due to its poor condition.

It was launching really hard on every run, both wheels up on every run (off the bottle or on it), was giving great crowd entertainment with massive burn-outs and a great "real V8" roar!

Ran a best 1.40 60ft time, and at 10.1 secs it knocked 6/10's off its ET since its last time out.

What more do you want?

Clearly not "sexy" enough....

I think it does get recognition Pete. It's one of the main cars I look forward to seeing and hoping it betters it's times. :thumbright: Just doesn't get photographed as much.

Credit to all involved. I thin budget building is a true spirit of hotrodding. 8-)

The plodge certainly is impressive, even more so after the last minute before nats hassle.
How about some period type graphics?Several times it came into the box and wasn't instantly recognisable. :D

Pete, I think you may be underestimating quite what an impact the Plodge has made on the Mopar scene, I was nipping up the steps every time I could to see it run.

I think the perceived lack of recognition is probably down to the very low key deep purple paint job and that it doesn't have PLODGE emblazoned down the side in yellow mirrorflake!

Just a thought.

I'm off to the cloakroom now...
