Anyone into Datsuns?

Post by vipergts »

Bought this earlier this year.

The most solid of Datsun bodies known to man. Bear in mind these thinks usually rotted within a week of its life

This car however lived in CA all its life till I brought it to these damp and miserable shores.

Spent some dough on it for sure...more that the look will tell you.

I've always been keen on the shape and this being the first year of manufacture makes it desirable in the Datsun Z world.....lighter and all that.

Been standing for many years so needed defribrillating.

I'm a mint car fan so driving this old donkey is a major revelation but I love it

Question is.............Do you get it????

However...underneath this solid mess

240Z??

One of the nicest early Japanese shapes!!

They have a fantastic dash if i remember correctly with deep round dials..........a nice place to be.

Some of the early Mazda's had something about them too...

I remember Will.

Funny but as a nipper I hated all things Japanese of the day except the 240/260 but acutally looking at some of them today they have aged well

Yes...wide wheels 9's front 10's rear on sticky tyres

Arches put on to cover them but Datsun made a rare Z called the ZG which wore these arches

Great cars in their day. Many Yank owners stuck Chevy V8s in them. There was a Rover 3.5 powered one used to park near me when i was a lad.

Wouldn't mind doing some track work in the old sausage but it'll need to be quicker and sort the anchors....they're rubbish.

Think my bicycle has bigger discs

Think it'll have to go inside over the winter other wise it'll disintegrate

Like that alot!!
I also like the same era 240K , 2 or 4 door, same running gear as the Z, they may have even called it the Skyline back then, not sure.

Anyway old Jap stuff is great IMO. :thumbright:
