Took a trip down to Jims place to have a look at the progress and drop off a few more parts.
Old stuff has been removed and the new diff and suspension is all in. The prop was being measured when i turned up (for shortening).

Lucky for me Jims business partner has a set of wheels on his car that are running 275/50/15's on a 8.5" rim. Think it works out at 4.5" backspace.

Jim dropped one of the halfshafts in for a quick eyeball to see if 275s would be possible. None of the rear brakes have been installed yet so this is not the exact final position, but it gave an indicator....... 8-)

Dropped the car so it had some weight on the rear for approx ride height....

When the whole axle is sorted then we can re-measure again with both wheels on and the suspension fully loaded. Think the inner lip on both will need to be trimmed/rolled for clearance.

Its very close though. Around a 10mm to the spring so a little close, but as said the brakes should push the rim a little further out (few mm). More measuring to do at that point.....

Watching your thread with interest Dave, cool if you could get a 275 under. a stock steel 8” Wheel Viintique might be the answer, and your lucky you’ve not had your car painted yet so you can roll the arch lips.
Good luck

Looks tight but might be ok, cornering would be the test.

hi dave, you could fit a panhard bar to limit side to side axle movement. it'd help with the tyre/arch clearance when cornering. neil.

Well the prop arrived back from proptech and got fitted late yesterday. The test drive put the old Mopar grin back on my face.

Superstock springs sit almost level from the rear so no weird lean going on. Its also made the rear end a LOT stiffer.

As i had the front end done a few years ago the car now sits on all new bushes and shocks and its nice a frim/tight. Compared to when i drove it 2 weeks ago its night and day.......a great upgrade that gets rid of it being wollowy!

I never really punched it as i want to put a few heat cycles through the diff first, but initial impressions are its a lot more eager. Pickup is perfect for what i want and i have to cover the brake when running in drive at idle.

Need to get it MOTd and put a few miles on it first, but i think this is probably the best transformation/upgrade ive done thus far..............

As it sits now:

Passenger side is up: 1.75" (22.5" to 24.25")
Drivers side is up: 1.5" (22.5" to 24")

As i said in a previous post id been looking for between 1" and 2".......Its spot on where i wanted it.

Very Happy with the result. :thumbright: 8-)

Looks great Dave! Get some chassis ties under it and it will be stiffer yet.
