Classic & Retro Action Day 2013

The countdown starts...!



With the Classic & Retro Action Day just a few weeks away (... yikes!), we’re beginning to put the final bits ‘n’ pieces together to hopefully provide a great day out for Owner’s Clubs and individuals alike.



OWNER’S CLUBS...

We have had a great response to our last e-news with Owner’s Clubs bookings coming in daily. We have a whole range of clubs who have already confirmed attendance but, you know us, never happy as there’s always room for more!!!



If you haven’t yet applied for your Owner’s Club stand 2013 OR if you need tempting in some way then...

· FREE Owner’s Club Stand for up to 12 vehicles (and drivers)!! You only pay if you want further admission tickets or if you want to go out on the track; you can’t do better than free!

· New improved track sessions... a chance to get out on the circuit from just £15 (Parade Lap with Pace Car) through to £25 (Owner’s Club Advance Price).

· Send us your application by Sunday 26th May 2012 and you could be in with a chance to win an Exclusive Track Session for up to 28 cars at 4pm (16:00hrs)!

· New Breakfast Meal Voucher for all pre-booked Owner’s Clubs! Receive a Bacon/Sausage Bap and Hot Drink at the Tavern for a discounted rate of £3.50! Vouchers will be enclosed with your tickets with 1 x voucher per car.

· Plus... it’s always a great chance to catch up with old friends and new! Unmissable!



WHAT’S ON...!

We have been busy working up a full programme both on track and off track for the day.



Porsche 911... 50 Years Young and Still Celebrating!

Porsche 911 has taken an Exclusive Track Session on the day to celebrate their 50th anniversary! This will be a parade lap and one for all to enjoy!



Vintage Bus Passenger Rides

We have tied up with Bristol Vintage Bus Group who will be bringing along a range of vintage and classic buses on the day. Not only will these make a great display (with staff in conductor regalia etc.) but, they will also be offering Passenger Rides of the Circuit.



We have set up 2 x track session slots for passenger rides (10.30am and 3.30pm) and, if the weather is fine on the day (and please... a sun dance is very much needed having just looked out of the window...) then the open top bus can go out and we can do some commentary too!



We’re also working up some “off circuit” passenger rides with trips into Castle Combe Village with stop offs at the Manor House Hotel for cream tea... all details are subject to confirmation!



Charitable Partner

Our friends at the Lotus 7 Club Stand will be collecting for NGVFA (National Gulf Veterans and Families Association) on the day, a charity close to their hearts as the Club Organiser served in a few conflicts including the First Gulf War. NGVFA has been nominated as our Charitable Partner for this event in celebration and thanks for the incredible work that our Armed Forces undertake. This is particularly poignant in light of the event coinciding with Armed Forces Day. Do make sure to pop by their stand on the day.



PR & MARKETING...

We have recently taken on a PR agency to help promote this event to Owner’s Clubs, trade and visitors. We have had some success with online media but please advise if you’re got any “newsworthy” stories that you feel may be relevant then do get in contact... the more we put into the melting pot, the more chance we’ve got of something being picked up!



SPECIAL OFFERS...!

Purchase Package 2 or Package 3 and we’ll give you a 25% discount on admission tickets (standard price: £15 per adult / £10 per senior) to the Autumn Classic race meeting on Sunday 6th October 2013. The race programme is currently being finalised but (subject to confirmation) will include:

CAMPING...!

For the hardy amongst you, we will be offering camping at the Circuit for this event. Tents and caravans are both welcome with both being sited at Camp Corner. Set up will be from 6pm on Friday 28th June 2013 with prices at £8 per unit in advance / £10 on the day.

Just in case any of you fancy a run round Castle Combe this weekend, they are a bit light on pre 1974 vehicles, as per the below.
Must book in by Wednesday 26th at 2pm to get a cheap ticket.
£15 instead of £30.

The Track Sessions for the Classic & Retro Action Day this Saturday 29th June 2013 have been selling well although we are finding that the Pre 1970s track sessions plus the Tax Exempt track sessions are both running “light”.



We are really keen to ensure that this event really embraces Classic & Retro cars and maximise the potential of getting these cars out on the circuit.



With this in mind, we have slashed the prices of the Pre 1970s and the Tax Exempt track sessions to our pre-booked Owner’s Clubs to just £15 for all advance ticket sales! Telephone us by 2pm this Wednesday 26th June and we’ll get you booked in... these are on a first come first served basis so once they’re gone, they’re gone!! They have been advertised as £30 in advance / £35 on the day so this is a fabulous 50% discount on advance prices (for the mathematicians amongst you)!!! Get booking now and let’s get some of these cars out on the track!



Details on the track session as follows...



· Pre 1970s: Open session for cars manufactured prior to 1970.

· Tax Exempt: Cars manufactured prior to 1974. With pace car (speeds limited to

50mph). Minimal restrictions – as follows:

Minimal Restrictions (applicable to Slow Parade plus Tax Exempt Parade Laps only):

• With pace car (restricted speeds)

• Seatbelts not required if not fitted

• Passengers allowed in back of car

• Children allowed in back

• Helmets not required

• All drivers and passengers must complete the indemnity form



Times of sessions...

10.15am: Pre 1970s Track Session

12.45pm: Pre 1970s Track Session

1pm: Tax Exempt with Pace Car (minimal restrictions)

2.15pm: Pre 1970s Track Session

2.45pm: Tax Exempt with Pace Car (minimal restrictions)
