Stripped sand blasted and painted the complete frame
Upol 2k eitch primer 3x coats
PN-S2025
Base metalic Audi grey 3x coats
Upol clear coat 4x coats
PN-S2081
Yes the weight is more but I'm sick of the frame going rusty
Painted in a dusty workshop with a cheap compressor and gun came out great !
Just got to find more power to compensate now

Using a cheap £250 tiny 3D printer we split the ducting up in parts that would fit in the printer and using cheap PLA plastic printed plugs

While these cost around £20 in material there are very flimsy and worried the molding process could deform them.
Ideally I should reprint but after 2 weeks of printing I’m committed now lol
Remember these are just the plugs.
Moulds Will be taken from these and then from the moulds real duct made

I decided to try and reinforce these with fibreglass and then filler and sand back. While they only have to last once We want them strong.

Layered up fibreglass and resin

Then wrap in a release film
This has tiny holes in it that allow the resin to be pulled out

Then wrap in a breather cloth which allows the vacuum to surround the part.

Then poor man’s vacuum chamber !!!
4x for £10
and I have used the same bag over and over
Make no mistake these bags pull so much vacuum with a standard house hold vacuum cleaner they would crush a pint glass and are on par with commercial setups.
My first test part basically imploded it was so strong. Be careful!!!

The vacuum then sucks all the excess resin out the part in to the cloth and pulls any air out the resin leaving a better surface finish/better layup
