Adam's 2005 USA Mopar Nats report

Wasted from a cramped and unpleasant Continental flight, things started to look up at Cleveland Hopkins airport, when we scored the only 2006 Charger at Dollar. New in that day, and with just 3 miles on the clock, it still had stickers on the tyres, and the broadcast sheet in the glovebox. That thing don't got a Hemi, but it felt peppy with the 250hp V6. It was an SXT model with leather and all the toys, and for some reason it had the Hemi R/T 18" alloys. :P

Like others, I was disappointed at first that the new Charger has 4 doors, but the looks have grown on me, and with rear wheel drive and an available 425hp Hemi in the SRT-8, I think it is worthy of the name.

I expected to see a few 06 Chargers on the road, but it wasn't until the last day that we saw another one. It got attention wherever we went - at the pizza restaurant near Seville on the first night, a middle aged guy on the next table said to his buddies "Seen one of them new Chargers yet?" "Nope" "Well there's one right out in the parking lot" At which point they all troop out to look over our car. 8) They left in a 300C.

We stopped the next night at the beautiful lodge in Mohican State Park, overlooking the lake, and then headed for the Super 8 on Brice Rd for Thursday night. The motel parking lot was already full of Mopars when we arrived, including Carsten's old 70 Superbee phantom. Here's a few pics for now. Need to catch up on the ol' jet lag - I'll post some more tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing the photos, Adam.

When I was over in Virginia in early May, I passed a Dodge dealer and there was a hemi Charger sat out front. I went in and got shown around it by the young lady, then asked for a test drive. She was horrified as it was the only one in the DCX area and was touring the dealers one day at a time. When I checked the magazines I realised that it wasn't released for another month or so. I liked it. Way better looking in the steel than in photos and way better looking than the 300C or Magnum, even with your eyes screwed tight shut.

Hope you both had a great time.

All the best.

There seems to be lots of 'for sale' signs going on there. Good place to pick up a bargain? or make some money do you think?

Hmmm... that red 63 500 looks in good shape. One each? Now that would just be greedy. A matching pair for a matching pair?

But I could be tempted by that black 62 tho. Very tempted.

Any more pics Adam? Stoopid question.

Blimey, seventyrunnertastic mates!

Great pictures...the price of gas in the States is scaring a few people already (less than three bucks a gallon, they should worry!) so maybe the prices might level out a bit.
