Unfortunately the Dart is very low, and the exhaust is very low, and I will be very low if it keeps grounding :thumbright:

I finnished off the exhaust tonight. It's very tight fit to the prop, but its also very close to the ground :lol:

Great to see you cracking on Johnny you don't hang about.

Yep bigger tyres at the rear get the backend up a tad its all the rage.

And I have already just got new wheels and tyres.

I just have to be careful where I drive.
I have welded skids onto the headers , as they are about 2 in off the ground

I pulled the distributor out this evening, to change the springs , and restrict the advance.
I thought I would check the vac advance unit, and guess what its got a hole in/leaking so not working and giving me an air leak.
Does any body have one,the same as the picture, that I could buy ?

I put the distributor back together this evening.
It had a 17 degree advance slide bits = 34 degrees crank.
The Dart was designed for idle at 0 degrees and total at 34 degrees advance
I worked out that I needed to restrict the total down to 20 degrees crank,
that equated to a 2 mm restriction on the slide.
I changed the strong bob weight spring for a light one ,to get all the advance it by 2400 rpm, lubed it all up with Gibbs.
Started up,set full advance to 34 degrees, checked to see what it was at idle.
14 degrees at idle, starts OK, runs like a different motor.
I had to put it all back together with the duff vac pot, as I havn't got a new one yet.

Half shafts arrived from US today 25% stronger alloy steel. They are Mopar 8 3/4
I didn't go the shortening route in the end , as there's lots of potential to be welded out of true, plus once done , I couldn't have changed the bearings, or seal, in the future if needed.
Doing it this way I get stronger shafts .
I need to get them machined to take the Dana 44HD bearings and seals.
then cut them down to fit the cut down axle case.

I find that I always want to change things, or try something different.
