Adapting a breather ....

Hi folks,
So, in one of my rocker covers ( drivers LH side) I have a small chrome mushroom shaped twist-in breather - sadly however, these eventually take up oil and because of their shape they then drip onto the ali cover - slightly annoying.
So I bought some of those K&N open breathers, but they come with a rubber foot and a jubilee clip.
I could possibly bin the jubilee clip and just see whether the rubber will push in and stay in, but was wondering if out there somewhere there is a twist in base with a steel riser tube that I could then mate the rubber to and tighten the jubilee clip ...... or am I going to have to make one !

My mustang rocker covers are like that, there is a twist on part that the push in breather goes into.

sounds similar to what I need .... I need the twist-in bit to go INTO the rubber breather foot ... after which I can tighten it up ?????

Normally those K&N breathers fit over a baffled tube you weld into the cover. Done it a couple of times and they didn't drip any oil.

As Blue says, yours doesn't push in though, it clamps over a tube, unless it will push through a grommet without the clip. ?

Ali' rocker covers with mopar logo ? Looks like I'm going to have to fashion something up from a twist-in oil cap and a piece of metal tube ...
