small amount of play in rear axle bearings

MOTed car on Saturday expecting no advisories given the work that went into the suspension and axle over the last 2 years.

It passed YaY!

but i was surprised to get advisories on SLIGHT rear wheel/axle bearing play

these are new bearings on new axles in a housing that is in good condition

the bearing cups needed to be pulled out rather than falling out and new ones put in.

can't see any way to adjust so will just have to live with it i guess

axle has approx 1500 miles on it

can anything be done? or do i need near bearings and seal already

proper....branded bearings went in

Standard American Mopar axles are adjustable on the Pass side - one axle pre-loads the other through the Diff.

Do you have Green bearings or standard Tapers?

Think Dave has a Spicer axle? More in common with a GM axle if I remember correctly.

Spicer axle

press fit collar to hold on taper bearings

middle bit of axle just floats in the side gear of the carrier

crazy 3 part seal that runs on the concave radius of the back of the hub flange

seal retainer held in with 4 studs
and a back plate for the brake

nothing to adjust

built by a specialist i.e I didn't do it. if i had i would expect something not quite right :)

Can you not speak to the specialist or at least get their opinion...
