seems to be around the price every project car is now. Looks great but not keen on the wheels. Im assuming it would have originally been on steels with hubcaps? Potential to be a nice car for someone :thumbright:

it's a white VE, most of them in the UK seem to be white. that pegs it as a 68 model year car. UK car would most likely have disk front end

scotts old auto rubber does a kit of rubbers.

Wheel arch shape doesn't look stock which instantly makes me wonder whats under the paint. Fair chance it's pretty rough if you had a good look at it.

Looks like a poor door repair to me, it doesn't line up with the back door either. I suspect filler, lots of filler....

What’s going on with that 67/68 Mustang Fastback shell in the background? That’s worth a small fortune. Amazing it’s left there to rot.

A few years back that VE was a rat rod in black with confederate flags painted on it. You can see it on page 2 of this forum in the 'UK Valiants - The big list' thread.

Do you reckon that the VE left OZ with a 318?.....

probably had a 273 originally

we got hi spec ones

so unless you fancied 225 slanter drum brakes and rubber floor mats you got the nice one with the v8

think the 318 came out in the VF regal as standard and fireball 318

Hi all,

I have just rejoined the forum and also have a white VE Valiant VIP. A few were imported by the Rootes group as they needed a big car to compete with the Jag XJ6. By the time they arrived they cost a lot more then the Jag though.
They came with the 273 V8 in VIP trim with the 3 chromed "sergeant stripes" at the tail end on each side.
I saw this car at the Peterborough show in 2015. It looked as if it had been driven there. I wanted to find the owner to have a chat but was unsuccessful. Have just been through the photos I took. It was indeed brown / confederate flag and presented as a rat rod complete with plastic rat on bonnet and skeleton in rear seat. All my photos are of right hand side of car which looked structurally OK. As you say the area around rear arch on the passenger side and the front door that side do look odd in the current ebay photos.
It will be interesting to see what it sells for as I have no real idea what my car is worth now I have fixed all of its many problems.
John
I have just posted all of the photos here:
