66 dodge coronet roof drip rails help please

My 66 coronet 4 door has splits between the roof gutter rails and the body and is leaking in.

How did they attach them, what is it please; almost like hardened filler that’s receded.

Want to get them done and would appreciate all of your experience here please.

I think there is a type of body panel sealer in there, which goes hard. Provided it is not rusty, then you could dig out the sealer and replace it with fresh body panel sealant. I noticed this stuiff when I did the Challenger, it is quite thick in places.
