Any Holley Gurus?

Just stripping a 4160, and found this needle and seat that looks nothing like the kit replacements, and isn't on the Holley website.

Anyone recognise it? I'm hoping I can just swap it out for the kit ones, but they don't seem to screw in very easily.

Thanks!

Ive not seen one like that before, the new one you have looks the same as most of the ones Ive seen though.

What carb is it and what are the fuel bowls like?

wonder if there is a difference between "performance" or aftermarket Holleys, and those that started life on a motor built for a standard car?

there certainly is for other makes OEM carb especially on emissions controlled cars often have emissions or ecconomy parts designed into often the same carb body that is used for the Racing version

Edit

Just found this
https://www.carburetor-parts.com/Needle ... _1986.html

This solid type of needle & seat was used on some industrial and truck applications, including some governor ed carburetors. The screw head is used to adjust the needle & seat. The nut locks it in place. Adjustment is external to the float bowl.

This needle & seat can be replaced by the 3 piece listed below as long as you also purchase the screw and nut.

so it looks like you have a robust version that is adjustable from outside..
and need a special screw and nut to use the new version which is set when the carb is apart

It gets worse, go to a local parts shop here in the US now and they have a corporate stock list that tells them to only stock 1 needle and seat set at a time! Like anyone has a a 2 barrel carb anymore.
