nice work, are you refitting the scuttle with panel glue so as not to burn that paint? you'd be ok painting the 'inside' of the scuttle panel too that way.

I always start with an Etch primer for bare metal.

Then a 2k primer, dependant on body I might switch to a primer filler

Two coats of Mipa epoxy then three coats of Mipa high build Pete

Yes Neil going to use panel adhesive and might get away with the odd spot weld if I can get away with it
Factory spot welds were leaning more towards the front of the lips

have you got access to a spot welder rather than plug welding with a mig/tig? they don't produce any where near as much heat which'll help.

I know you can hire them
Might try a couple of plug welds and see if it generates to much heat
